Christmas in Action came to Corsicana in 1992 as an affiliate of a national organization called Christmas in April. Evolving over the years, and undergoing several leadership changes, the local organization adopted the name Christmas in Action – Navarro County in 2006. The Navarro County branch of CIA is now one of two dozen Christmas in Action branches in several states. The national CIA organization is led by Bobby Trimble in Midland, TX, the founder of the original Christmas in April organization in 1973.
The organization is run entirely by volunteers and donors who provide the funding, materials, and manpower to renovate approximately 60 Navarro County homes each year. Repairs increase accessibility for the elderly and disabled, and address critical safety issues. Christmas in Action represents the true spirit of Christmas by putting Christian values into action through service to others.
